In 2004, Caroline Goodman set up Institutional Protection (IP), with a clear mission – to champion the interests of institutional investors where they were affected by corporate malpractice and mis-selling. It was clear to Caroline that although there were collective redress processes available to investors, they were often run more for the benefit of legal providers and didn’t necessarily meet the needs or objectives of those they were meant to serve. Institutional Protection set out to make this work much better for responsible institutional investors whose focus is on improving investments for their clients and beneficiaries in the long term.

Since then, we have seen twenty years of strong growth, driven largely by client recommendation. We now provide investor action services for over $8 trillion of assets under management across Europe, the Middle East, the Americas and Asia. Our asset owner and asset manager clients include sovereign wealth funds, investment managers, government entities, public and private pension funds, pension fund administrators, hedge funds, wealth managers and major charities. Our own specialist team has grown significantly too but we hold the same common vision and core belief in the work we do.

The key to our success is that, at every step and in every way, we’ve been unashamedly on the side of the institutional investor. We see the world through their eyes and have developed our business and our proprietary technology platform from the bottom up, to serve their best interests. Throughout we have continued to champion our clients, drive innovation and find the best routes to deliver financial redress and long term value. As an independent, privately owned company, we can act quickly, intelligently and with agility.

The strength and strong support of our global client base, combined with almost twenty years of experience in the shareholder litigation arena, enables us to put our institutional investor clients back in the driving seat.
